\nwe grew together almost too green and lush
\nhere where the perfect pavers interlock
\nperfect stone walls and it all holds the
\nperfect town together This american flag flying

we survived the blizzards of winter so Now
\nshe plants bulbs and dried out seeds she stole
\nfrom her past lives Down in the shadows of
\nfluorescent studio basements and the giggling
\nchildren painting fiery sunsets they never saw<\/p>\n
we ended up here in the layers and three dimensional
\nbackyard of towering trees creaking in the winds
\nand sounds of jet engines and sirens The butterfly’s
\nand bees hypnotize Who are we?, we ask to wake up
\nghetto-less in sun drenched bed sheets Who are we?
\nnever escaping the late night train whistles and laptop
\nglow.<\/p>\n
this cage is the clusterfuck of north Jersey
\ntwisting turning dizzying asphalt
\nsmokestacks and steeples line the horizon of
\nthe industrial revolution from generation to generation
\nfactory workers walking home to hot soup a long time ago
\nand we now under the same sun birthing a new era
\nthat will plant grass and flowers and stop for a moment
